On November 29th, 2009, just two weeks after her 24th birthday, Angela N. Peterson was killed in a car accident by a drunk driver. Angie was a special person. She was a daughter, a girlfriend, a best friend, an avid gamer, a spectacular UNLV student, and the list can go on forever. What was most striking about Angie was her open mind and her ability to care so much for so many people.
Whether speaking of Angie’s approach to life or to school, she truly upheld the creed of equality among all, regardless of race, gender, religion, academic interest, or personal taste. She was a true Anthropologist, in that her enthusiasm spanned all specialties of the academic field. In friendship, she cultivated a mass of friends from various backgrounds. Her gaming choices ranged from role-playing games (RPGs) and platformers to shooters and action-adventures. Below are just a few accounts that reflect the impact Angela Peterson had on the people around her:
Isal Guillermo (friend and research lab supervisor): One of my fondest thoughts of Angie is recalling her distinct ability to consume the greatest amount of “all you can eat” sushi during a single meal. Another would be her almost fanatical interpretations of all things gaming. If Angie passed a frustrating section of the current video game she was playing, I would have the common pleasure of listening to her rant about how ridiculous it was to overcome her latest triumph. I will miss her dearly, not only for her exuberant personality but also her contagious drive to achieve in all things.
Joanna Wong (long-time friend and soul sister): An ever-popular story that showcases typical Angela is when we vacationed in Japan, and after being assigned as group leader, I consistently lost track of her wanderings! It seemed like every time that I turned around, she would find something shiny and disappear, and I would end up searching frantically for her until she peeked out of some shadow with her head down and the look of excitement and then shame across her face when she realized my worry. Eventually, I figured out that Angie’s a cat… who will roam wherever, do her own thing and then come back home when she gets hungry or tired. There is no one else in this world that could light up a room with a smile like Angie’s.
Stacey Aragon (friend and mentor): Just a few of the countless memories I have of Angie include going to Anime Expo in 2009, over the 4th of July weekend, where she met Rocco of the infamous Mega 64 series; when Angie would come over to my house and reenact the whole of Advent Children with my original FFVII action figures, and the hilarity that ensued thereafter; as well as listening to her plan about upcoming summer events, like her graduation party, visiting college campuses, and attending various conferences and conventions in which she would present her latest research for kindred spirits who were just as dedicated to the study all things otaku and/or video-gaming related as she was. I will cherish each of these moments for all time."

CFW 5.03 GEN-B for HEN has recently been released for the PSP and it is the final and full launch of this firmware. They were able to succeed in some things but unfortunately not everything.
Although they were unable to complete the project the way they had planned, they were happy with it as you were able to play games.
Features include:
Compatible with the PSP-3000 and PSP-2000 v3 official firmware 5.03
play backups of games REQUIRE PSP firmware above 5.03, including 6.xx
playing UMD require firmware above 5.03, including 6.xx
playing UMD / ISO games protected against the CFW
play PS1 games
GEN available VSH MENU (SELECT)
recovery in VSH available
reading homebrews and more!
Other than the features of the firmware you also have the down side which includes:
MGS demo refuses to run:
We've tried everything and what works in 5.550GEN-D2 has not worked in the 5.03GEN-B.
Recovery mode menu is "mixed"
The RECOVERY MODE 5.02GEN-A has been patched to run on the PSP-3000. It can change the most usual options but we encounter some problems with this VSH Recovery in and we have not managed to fix it. In fact, the menu sees some of his lines not properly allocated and others who do not work. Note that on a PSP-3000, the recovery is useless, or nearly so, since all the useful features found in the VSH menu or in Ultimate VSH menu Total_Noob of Total Noob we strongly recommend that you install.
Options for Recovery and equivalents:
USB toggle = OK
Configuration = ok
Skip Sony: not work (need not severe)
Hide corrupt icons = not work and labor Skip sony logo
Sony has handing out survey forms to customers, asking them to pick out what new colors that they would like the new PSP Gos to be. The options vary from Bright Yellow, Coral, Ocean Blue and many more exciting colors.
Piano Black and Pearl White are also included in the options, the two stock colors.
Below are the current options on colors they are offering on the survey:
Here’s the “Xbox 1080″ prototype from Carl Archambeault, an impossibly portable console with a slide-out LCD screen. Where do the optical discs go? Who knows? And what’s the battery life? Let’s say 100 hours!
The project is an attempt “to design a hand held gaming device that would combine the gaming power of the Xbox 360 and the music and video power of the Microsoft Zune.” That’s an idea that Microsoft itself is apparently working on, but something like this prototype here would be mighty nice to add to your portable gaming collection, no?
As the name goes, this version of Xbox game console sure is more advanced than the Xbox handheld we saw before or Xbox 360 we currently use – three times advanced! Made by a certain Carl Archambeault, this Xbox design looks pretty “cute” and game and hence, I guess, we would also see the feminine population craving for this item, what do you say? The gadget is intended to sport a Xbox LCD display that slides into the compact machine, making the gadget something to die for.
All in all, this product looks like a mixture of Sony’s the Xbox 360 and Microsoft’s Zune. The creator of this design has made a prototype of such a device, which, I guess is not functional, because, if, by any chance, it renders to be functional, then I would not be wasting a single second more writing for this stuff, and trying my luck bidding for this one of a kind multimedia gadget. Other futuristic design that is worth missing out is the Xbox 720 console, which foresees Xbox in a very new avatar and hopefully, some more features.
Mr. Jack Thompson, the man we all love to hate. The #1 monkey on the back of the gaming community.
Perhaps hate is a bit strong, but he is not much liked to say the least. The anti-violence in video games crusader whom spent so much of his time and energy doing his best to get games like GTA banned has rubbed many of us gamers the wrong way. Not so much because he wants to protect children as he implies as his main concern, but because many of us feel he actualy looked at the video game industry as a bottomless pit of cash that he hoped to profit off of and also to get his face all over the media and make a name for himself , the later he was actually somewhat successful.
Well we have not heard much about old Jacky T. in a while, So whats he been up to lately.
Well last year Mr. Thompson got Permanently disbared from practicing law in the state of Florida after he was found abusing the system with his crazy lawsuits and antics.
Now the courts are taking it a step further with proceedings to possibly bar Jack from practicing law in any federal court. The court has ordered Jack to defend his right to continue practicing law.
Thompson must now give the court good reason not to kick him out of federal courts for the rest of his life.
Jack now feels like he is under attack unfairly and accuses the court of placing him on a "Terrorist Watch List" when US Marshals payed him a visit after he sent a letter to a Judge with the following text
"We find yesterday that enemy combatants at Guantanamo are to get more due process from federal judges than what I am to have. I guess my 'mistake' was not killing 3,000 people to make my point ..."
He also wrote "If I get sent to Gitmo as a 'terrorist,' then please send the stuff there. I'll be facing Tallahassee in prayer several times a day as required."
It was exactly these kinds of antics and outbursts that got him in all this trouble in the first place.
It seems Jack is not only an Ace Lawyer but also a major Drama Queen. Jacks plans to get rich quick have back-fired on him big time.
I truly hope that if jack does not get bared that he turn his act around and use that Law education for good and makes a better life for himself. Imagine what he could have accomplished with all the time and effort he wasted attacking the video game developers and retailers.
Note to Jack, Just stating my Opinions jack, Please do not sue me.
An European hardware manufacturer called RealView innovations plans to release a peripheral add-on for the PSP that will enable the PSP to display games in 3D. The device, called the V-Screen PSP, is set to release soon in North America. According to the manufacturer, the V-Screen does not rely on software or electronics, but rather attaches to the front of the handheld to "enhance the perceived depth of the 2D screen image on the PSP." The patent for the device states that this is accomplished using a curved fresnel lens that sits some distance from the screen of the device.
Founded in 2001, Irish company RealView Innovations (RVI) has developed a unique 3 dimensional screen technology that enhances the perceived depth of 2 dimensional screen images. Currently the company is focused on providing this technology to the personal entertainment and video game accessory market.
"The innovation uses special optical components in unconventional ways," said Eamonn Ansbro, an Optical Engineer at RVI. "No software, electronics or headgear is required. Nonetheless, the optical results are astonishing." Continued Ansbro: "The video game industry is a perfect fit for our technology. The V-Screen offers consumers a tremendous leap forward in optical enhancement."
There are a couple of potential problems that we can see with the V-Screen. First of all, the device is quite large, and turns the PSP into something like a Nintendo Virtual Boy instead of a portable handheld. Secondly, the only photo we have seen of the device is clearly designed to fit the existing model of PSP, rather than the PSP Go, and we wonder if RVI has a similar device in the works for the smaller machine. Thirdly, we wonder if third-party software makers need to make games specifically for the device, or whether it works with existing games. If it is designed to work with existing games, then the "3D Effect" might not be all that useful or impressive. On the other hand, we can't see third party developers making new games for an untested peripheral.
