I heard a rumor that Sony may drop out of the console business as the PS3 is not doing well as far as sells over seas or in america. That as the PSP has had better sells than the PS3 that they are going to consentrate on handhelds. That they will nolonger be doing consoles.

i also heard the rumor but i dont think its likely, this generation of consoles has hit a high in gaming history, which will mean an extended life for this gen, here are some articles, apparently the ps3 is planned for a 10 year life span, the 360 around a 6-7 life span, which in theory would indicate nintendo will have to come up with its next gen console prior to these as the wii is "barely" next gen imho.
old but probably true, if they leave the gap so long its going to leave a huge gaping hole for maybe another console devleoper (EA has been rumored to want to etempt a console) also another area to look into is that microsoft believe the 360 is going to be the last console with standard media format (ie dvds) and that ull buy and download everygame. which in 2012 wouldnt seem to infessible as broadband is improving at a good rate!

They have made it this far so I personally think that they wont give it all up. Its like saying Microsoft is going to give everything up altogether but it wont happen because they have come so far.

Yeah, I agree there were rumors before the ps3 came out that sony was quiting the console business due to sells then. I didn't believe it then. But with all the pore sells and all they had I was unsure this time.
I believe that Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo will always be stick it out.
As they all have large appeal to amny age groups.
Just kids mature thier console matures with them.
As children we played the nintendo was we matured we went to the playstation and so forth.

I put tis up in our news because it actually might have something to do with this:

Also in recent news a weird timer has appeared on the Japan playstation website and in the background there is weird soundtrack with thunder and rain along with voices speaking in English. It also looks like there is blood and some of it is dripping into a pool of it. Could this be a sign that Sony will drop out of the console business? If not, what else could this mean?

I listen to the whole thing. It could be related not sure. It may also could be promo for a game or someone hacked thier site. How ever doubtful that is.
But I listen to the whole thing and it is a guy and woman talking and they are watching something horrible. As you then can hear screeming in background and it gets louder. Then you hear the guy say oh my god and then she say something that sounds like he is going to kill her and he says someone is trying to stop him. Then the guy states they haveto call the cops. and then you hear what sounds like rain and then it loops back and starts over again. _________________ There are two kinds of people in the world those who 1 binary and those who 0 binary.

Ok I went back and check the site again at that link.
They now have a picture up and links to video at bottom.
It appears to be a new horror thriller game for PS3.
